Nancy Hofer talks about the City of Courtenay's Greenhouse Gas initiatives (Part 2 of 2)


Nancy Hofer is the Environemntal Planner with the City of Courtenay. In this, the first of 2 interviews with hanspetermeyer, she talks about her background and the context for the City's recent changes to its Official Community Plan. These changes reflect work Nancy has been doing with respect to setting Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission targets and programs.

  1. Concerned how quickly Nancy stated that the City doesn't expect people to give up their cars. Whaaa! Of course that's EXACTLY what more people need to do. As a new Comox Valley resident, I'm wondering what this obsession with the car is...

  3. Having gone to school with Nancy, I can guarantee she's not anti-bicycle. She's pro food, pro bike, and pro local. She's just trying to walk that fine line of not scaring the status quo while actually making the infrastructure changes that are necessary. Not an easy thing to do when you work for a local government.
